Happy 300 episodes! It’s been a fun journey and I thought for episode 300, I’d take a break from interviews and share a few lessons learned from recording, editing, hosting, and publishing 300 episodes.
I’ve got 3 quick lessons to share with you so let’s jump in…
Lesson 1 – Every Assistant Has a Story Worth Sharing
I’ve interviewed assistants to global public company CEOs, world renowned celebrities, presidents of the United States, and UHNW individuals. I’ve also interviewed assistants at small nonprofit organizations in rural America that no one has ever heard of. I’ve interviewed in-office, remote, and hybrid assistants. I’ve interviewed assistants from dozens of countries with differing ethnicities, who speak multiple languages, and support a variety of levels of executives. I’ve interviewed assistants who have differing religious views, political stances, and worldviews. I’ve interviewed administrative professionals with various titles like executive business partner, administrative assistant, director of operations, chief of staff, and others.
In all of this, there have been 2 constants throughout. First, everyone I’ve spoken with is passionate about elevating the perception of what an assistant is. Second, every single assistant has a story worth sharing, no matter the background, experience, or personal beliefs.
These 2 constants have kept me going for so long, and I am humbled to be able to provide this platform for the assistants of the world to share their passion with you.
Lesson 2 – Hosting a Podcast is Emotionally Challenging
I can’t tell you the amount of times I’ve doubted myself over the past 5 and half years. The internal dialogue of never ending imposter syndrome:
- Why am I doing this?
- Is anyone actually listening?
- If they are listening, is this silly show helpful?
Not to mention, the negative reviews and harsh comments (publicly or privately) directed my way regarding the show.
Thankfully, your overwhelming support and positive feedback keeps me going and reminds me that if someone doesn’t like the show, it’s simply, “Not for them.”
But, even if I didn’t receive positive feedback, I will always try to remind myself that I’m a valuable human being, no matter how many negative reviews I get, and no matter how many downloads the show gets, at the end of the day, the podcast has zero say on my value as a human being.
Lesson 3 – Consistency is Key
Lastly, I dove into this crazy world of podcasting with a bit of awareness that staying consistent would be valuable. Of the millions of podcasts in the world, only around 11% of them will ever reach 50 episodes published, and less than 2% will reach 200 episodes published. So, I knew that if I stayed consistent over a long period of time, I’d get decent results.
However, I had no idea how successful the show would be. 5 and half years later, I’m at almost 1,000,000 downloads and 300 episodes, and my network has grown exponentially. Not to mention, I’ve been lucky enough to make some money by partnering with great sponsors along the way.
All this to say, no matter what you do, if you can be consistent, the odds of success are in your favor.
Ok, there you have it, the 3 lessons I’ve learned from producing 300 episodes:
- Every assistant has a story worth sharing
- Hosting a podcast is emotionally challenging
- Consistency is Key

00:01:09.095 –> 00:01:12.055
JEREMY: Hey friends, it’s episode 300.
00:01:12.055 –> 00:01:15.815
JEREMY: I can’t believe that I’m saying that, but it’s true.
00:01:16.395 –> 00:01:17.435
JEREMY: It’s episode 300.
00:01:17.435 –> 00:01:19.675
JEREMY: You can check out the show notes at leaderassistant.com/300.
00:01:23.035 –> 00:01:33.235
JEREMY: It’s been a wild and fun and challenging and inspiring journey, these 300 episodes.
00:01:33.235 –> 00:01:39.755
JEREMY: And I wanted to take a break from interviews and just really thank you for listening.
00:01:39.755 –> 00:01:41.355
JEREMY: Thank you for supporting.
00:01:41.355 –> 00:01:42.375
JEREMY: Yeah, just really amazing.
00:01:42.535 –> 00:01:45.715
JEREMY: I don’t know what else to say other than thank you for being here.
00:01:46.375 –> 00:01:56.915
JEREMY: And gonna just thought I would share a few lessons that I’ve learned from recording, editing, hosting, and publishing 300 episodes.
00:01:56.915 –> 00:02:00.875
JEREMY: So three quick lessons to share, and I’ll just jump right in.
00:02:00.875 –> 00:02:05.995
JEREMY: But again, leaderassistant.com/300 if you want to check out the show notes.
00:02:05.995 –> 00:02:11.075
JEREMY: And I’ll post kind of a little mini blog on these three lessons as well.
00:02:11.075 –> 00:02:15.155
JEREMY: The first lesson is every assistant has a story worth sharing.
00:02:15.715 –> 00:02:32.635
JEREMY: I’ve interviewed assistants to global public companies, world-renowned celebrities, assistants to presidents of the United States, assistants to ultra high net worth individuals, and I’ve also interviewed assistants at small nonprofit organizations in rural America that no one’s heard of, right?
00:02:32.635 –> 00:02:35.655
JEREMY: And so every assistant has a story to share.
00:02:35.655 –> 00:02:37.375
JEREMY: It doesn’t matter who you support.
00:02:37.375 –> 00:02:40.675
JEREMY: It doesn’t matter if you’re in office, remote, hybrid.
00:02:40.675 –> 00:02:48.275
JEREMY: It doesn’t matter what country you live in, what languages you speak, even what level of executive you support.
00:02:48.275 –> 00:03:05.075
JEREMY: And so I just am just really grateful for the opportunity to speak with hundreds of assistants all over the world with different religious views, political stances, different world views, different backgrounds, different experience and different titles.
00:03:05.075 –> 00:03:06.395
JEREMY: Just lots of differences.
00:03:06.395 –> 00:03:15.075
JEREMY: But the one thing that is common amongst us all is that we love helping people and we love, we care.
00:03:15.075 –> 00:03:18.475
JEREMY: We care about our executives reaching their goals.
00:03:18.475 –> 00:03:21.815
JEREMY: We care about our teams and our companies reaching their goals.
00:03:21.815 –> 00:03:23.355
JEREMY: And we love being a part of that.
00:03:23.355 –> 00:03:29.835
JEREMY: So anyway, the first lesson is every assistant has a story worth sharing.
00:03:29.835 –> 00:03:31.935
JEREMY: And if you’d want to be on the show, let me know.
00:03:31.935 –> 00:03:32.395
JEREMY: Reach out.
00:03:32.395 –> 00:03:34.475
JEREMY: I’d love to have you on the show in the future.
00:03:34.475 –> 00:03:39.615
JEREMY: Lesson number two is hosting a podcast is emotionally challenging.
00:03:39.615 –> 00:03:44.995
JEREMY: I can’t tell you the amount of times I’ve doubted myself over the past five and a half years.
00:03:44.995 –> 00:03:50.595
JEREMY: The internal dialogue of never ending imposter syndrome.
00:03:50.595 –> 00:03:52.195
JEREMY: You know, the why am I doing this?
00:03:52.195 –> 00:03:53.855
JEREMY: Is anyone actually listening?
00:03:53.855 –> 00:03:57.675
JEREMY: If they are listening, is this silly show helpful?
00:03:57.675 –> 00:04:05.135
JEREMY: Not to mention the negative reviews and the harsh comments privately or publicly that have been directed my way regarding the show.
00:04:05.135 –> 00:04:16.015
JEREMY: But thankfully, overall, your overwhelming support and positive feedback keeps me going and reminds me that if someone doesn’t like the show, it’s simply not for them.
00:04:16.015 –> 00:04:22.135
JEREMY: And I know there are hundreds and thousands of you who have enjoyed the show.
00:04:22.135 –> 00:04:35.115
JEREMY: And in fact, by the time you’re listening to this episode 300, I’ll be really, really close to one million downloads overall over the last four and a half to five and a half years of the show.
00:04:35.555 –> 00:04:50.935
JEREMY: I always try to remind myself, even if I don’t get positive feedback, I also try to remind myself that I’m a valuable human being no matter how many negative reviews I get, no matter how many downloads the show gets, at the end of the day, the podcast has zero say on my value as a human being.
00:04:50.935 –> 00:04:54.955
JEREMY: So good reminder that I try to preach to myself.
00:04:54.955 –> 00:05:07.735
JEREMY: And in the third lesson, from publishing, editing, hosting, recording, 300 episodes, is that consistency is key.
00:05:07.735 –> 00:05:15.055
JEREMY: You know, I dove into this crazy world of podcasting with a bit of awareness that staying consistent would be valuable.
00:05:16.155 –> 00:05:25.355
JEREMY: I mean, in fact, of the millions or so podcasts in the world, only around 10 or 11 percent of them will ever reach 50 episodes published.
00:05:26.595 –> 00:05:31.395
JEREMY: And less than 2 percent will reach 200 episodes published.
00:05:31.395 –> 00:05:36.895
JEREMY: So I knew that if I stayed consistent over a long period of time, I’d get decent results, right?
00:05:36.895 –> 00:05:40.895
JEREMY: However, I had no idea how successful the show would be.
00:05:40.895 –> 00:05:48.555
JEREMY: Five and a half years later, almost 1 million downloads, 300 episodes, and my network has grown exponentially.
00:05:48.555 –> 00:05:54.255
JEREMY: Not to mention, I’ve been lucky enough to even make a little bit of money by partnering with great sponsors along the way.
00:05:55.235 –> 00:06:07.255
JEREMY: So, I’ve put a ton of time and energy into this, and all this to say, no matter what you do, if you can be consistent, the odds of success are in your favor.
00:06:07.255 –> 00:06:07.915
JEREMY: So, there you have it.
00:06:07.915 –> 00:06:11.795
JEREMY: Three lessons I’ve learned from producing 300 episodes.
00:06:11.795 –> 00:06:14.675
JEREMY: One, every assistant has a story worth sharing.
00:06:14.675 –> 00:06:18.855
JEREMY: Two, hosting a podcast is emotionally challenging.
00:06:18.855 –> 00:06:21.635
JEREMY: And three, consistency is key.
00:06:23.095 –> 00:06:25.595
JEREMY: So, I don’t want to leave you there, though.
00:06:25.595 –> 00:06:32.655
JEREMY: I know that was just kind of a brief celebratory three lessons as we celebrate episode 300.
00:06:32.655 –> 00:06:39.295
JEREMY: But one thing I’m passionate about is helping assistants embrace AI and realize the power of AI.
00:06:39.295 –> 00:06:46.195
JEREMY: And there’s a tool called Notebook LM, I believe, and it is pretty fascinating.
00:06:46.255 –> 00:06:50.615
JEREMY: It’s through Google, and I’ll put a link in the show notes for this episode.
00:06:50.615 –> 00:07:03.295
JEREMY: But I actually uploaded my little summary blog post that I’ll share on the show notes, and also that I essentially repeated to you on this episode.
00:07:03.295 –> 00:07:11.675
JEREMY: I uploaded the text, the transcript, if you will, into this AI called Notebook LM.
00:07:11.675 –> 00:07:13.955
JEREMY: It is pretty fascinating.
00:07:14.615 –> 00:07:30.935
JEREMY: I uploaded it, and within like two minutes, I got a file back that was essentially a conversation with two people discussing the lessons that I learned post that I just shared with you.
00:07:30.935 –> 00:07:32.355
JEREMY: So I thought it was really fascinating.
00:07:32.355 –> 00:07:35.075
JEREMY: It sounds kind of like an NPR podcast.
00:07:35.075 –> 00:07:37.695
JEREMY: It’s actually really well done.
00:07:37.695 –> 00:07:48.935
JEREMY: And although I am already exposing the secret where it is actually not real humans, it’s an AI-generated podcast interview.
00:07:48.935 –> 00:07:55.075
JEREMY: I still think it’s pretty realistic, and I think it’s pretty fascinating how realistic it is.
00:07:55.335 –> 00:07:59.995
JEREMY: There are certain portions of it where you’re like, okay, yeah, I can see this is definitely a robot.
00:07:59.995 –> 00:08:07.595
JEREMY: But then there are other parts you get lost in the conversation, and you’re like, oh, these are just some like highly produced podcast hosts.
00:08:07.595 –> 00:08:08.655
JEREMY: I’m gonna leave you with that.
00:08:08.655 –> 00:08:09.615
JEREMY: Thanks again for listening.
00:08:10.155 –> 00:08:17.015
JEREMY: Congratulations to making it to 300 episodes, if you’ve listened to every episode from the beginning.
00:08:17.015 –> 00:08:18.235
JEREMY: If you have, send me a note.
00:08:18.235 –> 00:08:20.275
JEREMY: I would love to hear.
00:08:20.275 –> 00:08:24.855
JEREMY: That’s a pretty long journey that you’ve been on with me.
00:08:24.855 –> 00:08:36.395
JEREMY: And yeah, I’ll leave you with this AI-generated, NPR-like podcast conversation with a couple of AI voices.
00:08:36.395 –> 00:08:40.835
JEREMY: So until next time, thanks again for listening, and we’ll talk soon.
00:08:40.835 –> 00:08:47.975
AI 1: Hey, everyone, and welcome to another Deep Dive, where we unearth the hidden gems of insightful content online.
00:08:47.975 –> 00:08:51.195
AI 2: And today, we’re tackling the world of podcasting.
00:08:51.195 –> 00:08:55.895
AI 1: Yeah, getting into all the stuff you don’t really think about when you’re just listening to your favorites.
00:08:55.895 –> 00:08:56.575
AI 2: Exactly.
00:08:56.575 –> 00:09:03.795
AI 2: What does it really take to not just start a podcast, but to keep it going, to actually make it a success?
00:09:03.795 –> 00:09:06.515
AI 1: Right, because everyone has that friend who’s like, I’m going to start a podcast.
00:09:06.795 –> 00:09:09.635
AI 1: And then like two episodes later, poof, gone.
00:09:09.635 –> 00:09:11.095
AI 2: It’s way harder than it looks, right?
00:09:11.095 –> 00:09:12.055
AI 1: Totally.
00:09:12.055 –> 00:09:16.975
AI 1: So to guide us on this deep dive, we’re turning to a blog post that caught our eye.
00:09:16.975 –> 00:09:19.535
AI 1: This isn’t just some random how-to listicle.
00:09:19.535 –> 00:09:22.375
AI 1: This is from someone who’s actually living it.
00:09:22.375 –> 00:09:24.195
AI 1: They just hit their 300th episode.
00:09:24.195 –> 00:09:25.615
AI 2: Whoa, 300 episodes.
00:09:25.615 –> 00:09:26.435
AI 2: That’s dedication.
00:09:26.435 –> 00:09:32.115
AI 1: Seriously, the post is called 300 Lessons Learned from Producing 300 Episodes of a Podcast.
00:09:32.115 –> 00:09:33.615
AI 1: So you know this is going to be good.
00:09:33.615 –> 00:09:34.735
AI 2: All right, hit us with the wisdom.
00:09:35.475 –> 00:09:37.875
AI 1: Okay, so one quote that really jumped out at me.
00:09:37.875 –> 00:09:42.235
AI 1: It said, Every assistant has a story worth sharing.
00:09:42.235 –> 00:09:47.355
AI 1: Now this blogger, they host a podcast, you guessed it, about assistants.
00:09:47.355 –> 00:09:49.715
AI 2: Assistance, like personal assistants.
00:09:49.735 –> 00:09:52.635
AI 1: Yeah, like the unsung heroes of productivity.
00:09:52.635 –> 00:09:53.715
AI 2: Interesting.
00:09:53.715 –> 00:09:59.795
AI 2: But I’m guessing this idea of everyone having a story, that applies beyond just assistants, right?
00:09:59.795 –> 00:10:00.495
AI 1: Oh, absolutely.
00:10:00.495 –> 00:10:02.495
AI 1: And I think that’s what’s so powerful about this quote.
00:10:02.835 –> 00:10:08.795
AI 1: It reminds us that everyone, no matter their job, their background, their experiences, they have something unique to offer.
00:10:08.795 –> 00:10:10.855
AI 2: It’s about tapping into that uniqueness, right?
00:10:10.855 –> 00:10:12.195
AI 2: And then finding a way to share it.
00:10:12.195 –> 00:10:13.495
AI 1: Exactly.
00:10:13.495 –> 00:10:19.675
AI 1: Which actually leads perfectly into the first big takeaway from this blog post, finding your niche.
00:10:19.675 –> 00:10:23.335
AI 1: And it makes sense when you think about the sheer number of podcasts out there.
00:10:23.335 –> 00:10:24.035
AI 2: It’s overwhelming.
00:10:24.035 –> 00:10:25.835
AI 2: Honestly, how do you even stand out?
00:10:25.835 –> 00:10:26.515
AI 1: Right.
00:10:26.515 –> 00:10:30.615
AI 1: And this blogger, they emphasize that it’s not enough to just have a cool idea.
00:10:31.255 –> 00:10:36.035
AI 1: You have to be genuinely passionate about your topic, because that passion, that’s what’s going to shine through.
00:10:36.035 –> 00:10:37.755
AI 1: It’s going to connect with listeners.
00:10:37.755 –> 00:10:38.495
AI 2: Authenticity.
00:10:38.495 –> 00:10:41.735
AI 2: Listeners can spot a fake a mile away, right?
00:10:41.735 –> 00:10:42.295
AI 1: Totally.
00:10:42.295 –> 00:10:46.155
AI 1: And when you’re forcing it, when you’re not truly invested in your topic, it shows.
00:10:46.155 –> 00:10:47.995
AI 1: And listeners, they’ll pick up on that.
00:10:47.995 –> 00:10:52.215
AI 1: But when you’re speaking from a place of genuine enthusiasm, It’s magnetic.
00:10:52.215 –> 00:10:53.575
AI 2: You can feel it in their voice.
00:10:53.575 –> 00:10:54.395
AI 1: Exactly.
00:10:54.395 –> 00:10:57.995
AI 1: And that’s what keeps people coming back for more, that genuine connection.
00:10:58.215 –> 00:11:01.635
AI 2: So, find your niche, be authentic, got it.
00:11:01.635 –> 00:11:03.155
AI 2: Sounds pretty straightforward so far.
00:11:03.155 –> 00:11:04.395
AI 1: Well, not so fast.
00:11:04.395 –> 00:11:09.255
AI 1: Because this blogger, they get real about the fact that podcasting isn’t always rainbows and sunshine.
00:11:09.255 –> 00:11:12.575
AI 1: There’s a whole emotional side to it that we don’t often talk about.
00:11:12.575 –> 00:11:13.735
AI 2: Oh, I bet.
00:11:13.735 –> 00:11:17.295
AI 2: Putting yourself out there week after week, that takes guts.
00:11:17.295 –> 00:11:18.255
AI 1: Absolutely.
00:11:18.255 –> 00:11:24.775
AI 1: And this blogger talks about dealing with imposter syndrome, feeling like a fraud even when they’d hit a hundred episodes.
00:11:24.775 –> 00:11:25.975
AI 2: Oh, wow, even at a hundred.
00:11:26.115 –> 00:11:31.415
AI 1: Yeah, it’s that voice in your head that tells you’re not good enough, that people are going to find out you’re a phony.
00:11:31.415 –> 00:11:37.515
AI 2: I can see how that would be especially tough in podcasting, where your voice is literally the thing people are judging.
00:11:37.515 –> 00:11:37.935
AI 1: Right.
00:11:37.935 –> 00:11:40.075
AI 1: And then there’s the whole thing about negative feedback.
00:11:40.075 –> 00:11:44.975
AI 1: This blogger talks about how even one bad review can totally derail your day.
00:11:44.975 –> 00:11:46.415
AI 2: Oh, I feel that.
00:11:46.415 –> 00:11:51.255
AI 2: It’s like you pour your heart and soul into something and then some random internet stranger.
00:11:51.255 –> 00:11:53.215
AI 1: Can just crush you with a two-star review.
00:11:53.215 –> 00:11:55.415
AI 1: And then there’s the big one, download numbers.
00:11:55.835 –> 00:11:57.775
AI 2: Ah, the numbers.
00:11:57.775 –> 00:12:01.175
AI 2: The bane of every content creator’s existence.
00:12:01.175 –> 00:12:07.575
AI 1: Seriously, it’s like this constant reminder of how many or how few people are actually listening to you.
00:12:07.575 –> 00:12:11.855
AI 2: I can’t even imagine the pressure of staring at those numbers, especially in the beginning.
00:12:11.855 –> 00:12:14.735
AI 1: It’s tough no matter how confident you are.
00:12:14.735 –> 00:12:19.815
AI 1: So, with all of these emotional landmines, how does this blogger stay sane?
00:12:19.815 –> 00:12:21.095
AI 1: How do they keep going?
00:12:21.095 –> 00:12:22.675
AI 2: Yeah, what’s her secret sauce?
00:12:22.675 –> 00:12:23.135
AI 2: Spill the tea.
00:12:23.455 –> 00:12:27.515
AI 1: Well, one thing they emphasize is the importance of focusing on the positive.
00:12:27.515 –> 00:12:30.675
AI 2: Okay, easier said than done when you’re staring at a bad review.
00:12:30.675 –> 00:12:32.155
AI 1: Sure, but hear me out.
00:12:32.155 –> 00:12:37.395
AI 1: Instead of dwelling on that one negative comment, what if you focused on the ten positive ones?
00:12:37.395 –> 00:12:38.355
AI 2: Shift your perspective.
00:12:38.355 –> 00:12:38.815
AI 2: I like it.
00:12:38.815 –> 00:12:39.715
AI 1: Exactly.
00:12:39.715 –> 00:12:42.235
AI 1: Celebrate the wins no matter how small.
00:12:42.235 –> 00:12:46.395
AI 2: So, like, if you get a nice comment, even if it’s from your mom, savor that.
00:12:46.395 –> 00:12:47.575
AI 2: Let it fuel you.
00:12:47.575 –> 00:12:48.595
AI 1: Absolutely.
00:12:48.595 –> 00:12:52.095
AI 1: And then there’s another thing this blogger talks about, which I think is so crucial.
00:12:52.935 –> 00:12:54.255
AI 1: Building a support system.
00:12:54.255 –> 00:12:56.995
AI 2: Surround yourself with your own personal hype team.
00:12:56.995 –> 00:12:57.775
AI 1: Exactly.
00:12:57.775 –> 00:13:05.415
AI 1: Find people who get it, who understand the ups and downs of podcasting, and who can offer encouragement when you need it most.
00:13:05.415 –> 00:13:09.915
AI 1: Because, let’s face it, putting yourself out there creatively, it’s vulnerable.
00:13:09.915 –> 00:13:11.095
AI 2: Yeah, it’s scary.
00:13:11.095 –> 00:13:13.875
AI 2: Having a good support system can make all the difference.
00:13:13.875 –> 00:13:19.495
AI 1: It’s like having a cheer squad in your corner, reminding you why you started this crazy journey in the first place.
00:13:19.495 –> 00:13:26.915
AI 1: But even with the best support system, there’s one thing that this blogger says is absolutely make or break for podcutting success.
00:13:26.915 –> 00:13:27.935
AI 2: Don’t keep me in suspense.
00:13:27.935 –> 00:13:28.575
AI 2: What is it?
00:13:28.575 –> 00:13:30.395
AI 1: And this is where it gets real.
00:13:30.395 –> 00:13:32.495
AI 1: They dropped a statistic that kind of blew my mind.
00:13:32.495 –> 00:13:33.315
AI 1: Are you ready for this?
00:13:33.315 –> 00:13:33.755
AI 2: Hit me.
00:13:33.755 –> 00:13:37.195
AI 1: Only 11 percent of podcasts make it to 50 episodes.
00:13:37.195 –> 00:13:39.795
AI 2: Wait, seriously, 11 percent.
00:13:39.795 –> 00:13:41.995
AI 2: So like almost nine out of 10 podcasts.
00:13:41.995 –> 00:13:44.615
AI 1: Call it quits before they even hit episode 50.
00:13:44.615 –> 00:13:45.615
AI 1: Wild, right?
00:13:45.615 –> 00:13:47.315
AI 1: And it gets even crazier.
00:13:47.315 –> 00:13:49.975
AI 1: They included a whole table in the post breaking it down.
00:13:50.155 –> 00:13:51.915
AI 1: You want to know how many make it to 100 episodes?
00:13:51.915 –> 00:13:52.475
AI 2: Okay, don’t tell me.
00:13:52.475 –> 00:13:54.035
AI 2: Let me guess five percent.
00:13:54.035 –> 00:13:54.735
AI 1: You’re close.
00:13:54.755 –> 00:13:56.795
AI 1: 5.81 percent to be exact.
00:13:56.795 –> 00:13:59.675
AI 1: It’s like, wow, this is a serious commitment, folks.
00:13:59.675 –> 00:14:03.375
AI 2: No wonder this blogger is emphasizing consistency so much.
00:14:03.375 –> 00:14:07.535
AI 2: They literally call it the single biggest factor that contributed to their success.
00:14:07.535 –> 00:14:07.855
AI 1: Right.
00:14:07.855 –> 00:14:12.515
AI 1: It’s not enough to just have a burst of initial enthusiasm and then fizzle out after a few weeks.
00:14:12.515 –> 00:14:16.795
AI 2: Which, let’s be honest, is so easy to do when you’re not seeing immediate results.
00:14:16.795 –> 00:14:20.435
AI 2: Like you put all this work into an episode, you hit publish, and then dot crickets.
00:14:20.435 –> 00:14:25.415
AI 1: It can be super discouraging, especially in the beginning when you might only have a handful of listeners.
00:14:25.415 –> 00:14:25.675
AI 2: All right.
00:14:25.675 –> 00:14:26.995
AI 2: So consistency is key.
00:14:26.995 –> 00:14:28.215
AI 2: Got it.
00:14:28.215 –> 00:14:29.855
AI 2: But like, why?
00:14:29.855 –> 00:14:31.395
AI 2: What difference does it really make?
00:14:31.395 –> 00:14:34.075
AI 1: Well, for starters, building an audience takes time.
00:14:34.075 –> 00:14:35.635
AI 1: It’s not going to happen overnight.
00:14:35.635 –> 00:14:38.655
AI 1: You have to give people a chance to actually find your podcast.
00:14:38.655 –> 00:14:39.695
JEREMY: True, true.
00:14:39.695 –> 00:14:43.275
AI 2: It’s not like you launch and boom, instant millions of downloads.
00:14:43.275 –> 00:14:43.995
AI 1: Exactly.
00:14:43.995 –> 00:14:47.955
AI 1: And then on top of that, algorithms, well, they love consistency.
00:14:48.195 –> 00:14:49.075
AI 2: Algorithms, right.
00:14:49.075 –> 00:14:50.275
AI 2: They run everything these days.
00:14:50.275 –> 00:14:51.015
AI 1: They really do.
00:14:51.015 –> 00:14:58.415
AI 1: So when you’re consistent with your publishing schedule, it signals to those algorithms that you’re serious about this whole podcasting thing.
00:14:58.415 –> 00:15:04.615
AI 2: It’s like you’re proving to Spotify and Apple Podcasts and everyone else that you’re in it for the long haul.
00:15:04.615 –> 00:15:05.455
AI 2: You’re reliable.
00:15:05.455 –> 00:15:06.275
AI 1: Exactly.
00:15:06.275 –> 00:15:10.895
AI 1: And when those platforms trust you, they’re more likely to recommend you to new listeners.
00:15:10.895 –> 00:15:11.535
AI 2: Visibility.
00:15:11.535 –> 00:15:12.035
AI 2: Got it.
00:15:12.035 –> 00:15:12.655
AI 2: Makes sense.
00:15:12.655 –> 00:15:14.635
AI 2: But it’s still going to be more than just algorithms, right?
00:15:14.635 –> 00:15:18.715
AI 1: It’s like you’re building that relationship not just with your listeners, but with the platforms themselves.
00:15:18.715 –> 00:15:21.495
AI 1: You’re showing them that you’re a worthwhile investment.
00:15:21.495 –> 00:15:24.295
AI 2: It’s like building any kind of relationship, really.
00:15:24.295 –> 00:15:25.655
AI 2: Consistency is key.
00:15:25.655 –> 00:15:28.035
AI 1: And it’s not just about algorithms either.
00:15:28.035 –> 00:15:30.895
AI 1: Think about what consistency does for you as a podcaster.
00:15:30.895 –> 00:15:31.795
AI 2: Oh, for sure.
00:15:31.795 –> 00:15:35.015
AI 2: Like you were saying earlier, building any skill takes practice, right?
00:15:35.015 –> 00:15:36.035
AI 1: Exactly.
00:15:36.035 –> 00:15:37.855
AI 1: And podcasting is no different.
00:15:37.855 –> 00:15:41.195
AI 1: The more consistently you create, the better you become at it.
00:15:41.195 –> 00:15:44.415
AI 2: It’s like you’re flexing those podcasting muscles episode after episode.
00:15:44.515 –> 00:15:45.215
AI 1: Exactly.
00:15:45.215 –> 00:15:50.735
AI 1: You get better at crafting compelling stories, you find your voice, your editing skills improve.
00:15:50.735 –> 00:15:52.535
AI 1: It all comes with practice.
00:15:52.535 –> 00:15:55.975
AI 2: So consistency benefits both you and your podcast.
00:15:55.975 –> 00:15:57.355
AI 1: It’s a win-win.
00:15:57.355 –> 00:16:01.835
AI 1: And speaking of wins, I want to take a moment to talk directly to you, dear listener.
00:16:01.835 –> 00:16:07.895
AI 1: You’ve been so engaged with this deem dive, soaking up all this wisdom about podcasting success.
00:16:07.895 –> 00:16:09.595
AI 2: They’re probably taking notes like crazy.
00:16:09.595 –> 00:16:10.995
AI 1: I hope so.
00:16:10.995 –> 00:16:13.655
AI 1: But now it’s time to turn that inspiration into action.
00:16:14.275 –> 00:16:19.475
AI 1: What’s one small step you can take today to move closer to your own podcasting goals?
00:16:19.475 –> 00:16:19.675
AI 2: Yeah.
00:16:19.675 –> 00:16:21.895
AI 2: What’s that one thing you’ve been putting off?
00:16:21.895 –> 00:16:24.195
AI 2: Is it finally hitting record on that first episode?
00:16:24.195 –> 00:16:30.435
AI 1: Maybe it’s outlining your next five episodes, or even just spending 30 minutes researching that new microphone you’ve had your eye on.
00:16:30.435 –> 00:16:32.615
AI 2: Don’t underestimate the power of small steps.
00:16:32.615 –> 00:16:33.455
AI 1: Seriously.
00:16:33.455 –> 00:16:36.035
AI 1: It’s all about building momentum bit by bit.
00:16:36.035 –> 00:16:37.655
AI 1: Remember that 11% statistic?
00:16:37.655 –> 00:16:38.195
AI 2: Oh, yeah.
00:16:38.195 –> 00:16:41.235
AI 2: The one that said only 11% of podcasts make it to 50 episodes.
00:16:41.415 –> 00:16:42.235
AI 1: Exactly.
00:16:42.235 –> 00:16:44.875
AI 1: Podcasting is a marathon, not a sprint.
00:16:44.875 –> 00:16:49.195
AI 2: It’s about building something sustainable, something meaningful, something that can stand the test of time.
00:16:49.195 –> 00:16:53.835
AI 1: And that takes dedication, but it also takes those consistent everyday efforts.
00:16:53.835 –> 00:16:54.615
AI 2: And you know what?
00:16:54.615 –> 00:16:59.135
AI 2: This blogger, they talk about how all those efforts, they don’t just lead to a bigger audience.
00:16:59.135 –> 00:17:02.455
AI 2: They can lead to, well, let’s be real, some pretty cool opportunities.
00:17:02.455 –> 00:17:02.815
AI 1: Right.
00:17:02.815 –> 00:17:07.735
AI 1: Like they actually talk about getting sponsorships, earning an income from their podcasts.
00:17:07.775 –> 00:17:16.375
AI 2: It proves that with persistence and, of course, consistency, you can turn your passion project into something truly impactful and maybe even profitable.
00:17:16.375 –> 00:17:18.475
AI 1: It’s pretty inspiring, right?
00:17:18.475 –> 00:17:20.595
AI 1: But it all starts with that first step.
00:17:20.595 –> 00:17:24.355
AI 1: Actually, that brings us to what I think is a really interesting point that this blogger makes.
00:17:24.355 –> 00:17:28.615
AI 1: This entire post, it’s all about their journey, their experience.
00:17:28.615 –> 00:17:29.655
AI 1: But what about yours?
00:17:29.735 –> 00:17:30.855
AI 2: Oh, good point.
00:17:30.855 –> 00:17:36.375
AI 1: What story, what knowledge, what passion are you sitting on that’s just waiting to be shared with the world?
00:17:36.375 –> 00:17:40.635
AI 2: What could your 300th episode celebration blog post look like?
00:17:40.635 –> 00:17:40.995
AI 1: Right.
00:17:40.995 –> 00:17:49.315
AI 1: Imagine the impact you could have if you committed to this journey, to consistently showing up and sharing your unique voice.
00:17:49.315 –> 00:17:50.615
AI 1: It’s really something, right?
00:17:50.615 –> 00:17:52.935
AI 1: The ripple effect that sharing your voice can have.
00:17:52.935 –> 00:17:56.555
AI 2: It all starts with that one decision to hit record and put yourself out there.
00:17:56.815 –> 00:17:59.835
AI 1: This blogger’s journey is proof that it’s possible.
00:17:59.835 –> 00:18:04.015
AI 1: They started with a passion, a microphone, and a message they wanted to share.
00:18:04.035 –> 00:18:06.375
AI 2: 300 episodes later, look at them.
00:18:06.375 –> 00:18:10.475
AI 2: They’ve built a community, they’re making an impact, they’re even earning an income from it.
00:18:10.475 –> 00:18:16.695
AI 1: It’s honestly so inspiring, and I hope, dear listeners, that you’re feeling that same spark of inspiration right now.
00:18:16.695 –> 00:18:19.095
AI 2: Because everyone has a story to tell.
00:18:19.095 –> 00:18:19.675
AI 2: Yeah.
00:18:19.675 –> 00:18:25.295
AI 2: And podcasting, it gives you that platform to tell it, on your terms, with a global audience ready to listen.
00:18:25.755 –> 00:18:27.815
AI 1: So what are you waiting for?
00:18:27.815 –> 00:18:29.975
AI 1: Don’t let those doubts hold you back.
00:18:29.975 –> 00:18:33.355
AI 1: Find your niche, embrace your authenticity, be consistent.
00:18:33.355 –> 00:18:35.175
AI 2: And most importantly, have fun with it.
00:18:35.175 –> 00:18:39.195
AI 1: Who knows, maybe one day we’ll be diving into your 300th episode blog post.
00:18:39.195 –> 00:18:40.855
AI 2: That would be amazing.
00:18:40.855 –> 00:18:43.855
AI 2: Until then, keep those podcasting dreams alive.
00:18:43.855 –> 00:18:46.895
AI 2: Keep creating, keep experimenting, keep sharing your voice.
